Today was in my mind perfect for some winter photos. The sun was behind the wispy clouds which truly added to the image. Here is a small selection. When photographing snow there is a need to increase the exposure a stop or two. I only increased by one stop. They were taken a F11 so little light was getting in but I was trying to get the hyperfocal distance right. In Photoshop I was able to pull down the highlights to get greater resolution of the clouds. I made sure that I exposed on the trees and not the snow. The concern is the sun will simply causing blooming and overwhelming the photograph. Using the high F stop helped and Photoshop has great tools. However, if you do over expose with the sun even in Photoshop there is nothing you can do. I took a few trial and error shots first. Any way, what do you think?
